By all reports (and books), Steve Jobs is hardly the easiest person in the world to work for. I doubt Jim Collins will be covering Jobs in Good to Great Redux. Yet, the man leads a company that seems to go from strength to strength.
Conventional wisdom stated that Apple would take a major share price hit when they announced their move to Intel. It was a momentary blip and the share price has continued to rise. And now they've hit another home run with the iPod Nano, and at least a triple with the Motorola ROKR E1.
I'm listening to my 20Gb iPod in the Bose Sound Dock as I type this on my 15" Powerbook - and now I'm lusting after the Nano. The elegance of design, colour screen, three days of music, infinite Podcasts or 25,000 pictures (which will make it attractive to Imbi) will see this new iPod race off the shelves. It's available today. I'm fighting the temptation.
Note: Apple has also released iTunes 5.
